Description

You will lead the modernization of the legacy JJIS application while maintaining its current Smalltalk codebase.

Responsibilities

• Translate and document legacy Smalltalk logic to facilitate system modernization.
• Support and maintain the existing JJIS Smalltalk application, including bug fixes and stability improvements.
• Analyze user stories and technical requirements within an Agile framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, business analysts, and stakeholders, to validate solutions.
• Conduct design walkthroughs and support QA and UAT testing efforts.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience developing with the Smalltalk programming language.
• Strong background in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD).
• Experience working with multiple desktop operating systems and client/server technology.
• Proficiency with relational databases and system integrations.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional development experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues via Service Desk support.
