Description

Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs and batch processing systems on IBM mainframe environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug COBOL programs and high-volume batch processing systems using JCL and DB2.
• Optimize legacy applications and manage large DB2 tables through partitioning, indexing, and query tuning.
• Build and manage ETL pipelines to move data between mainframe systems and data warehouses.
• Translate business and financial requirements into technical mainframe solutions and perform impact analysis.
• Investigate production issues using root cause analysis and support release management.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Development including COBOL, DB2, and JCL.
• Proficiency in batch processing and building ETL pipelines.
• Strong SQL query writing and performance tuning capabilities.
• Experience managing large financial and transactional datasets.
• Ability to manage data exchange interfaces including APIs and flat files.
• Deep analytical and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Easytrieve.
• Familiarity with SOX or regulatory compliance environments.
• Experience performing code reviews and mentorship.
