Description

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

• Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

• Work hands-on with EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ELB, Route 53, Auto Scaling, EKS.

• Enforce least-privilege IAM policies and secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager / Vault).

• Support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures.

CI/CD & DevOps Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD.

• Automate build, test, artifact creation, and deployment pipelines across environments (SIT/UAT/PROD).

• Manage artifact repositories using Nexus / Artifactory.

• Enable zero-downtime deployments using rolling, blue-green, or canary strategies where applicable.

Containerization & Kubernetes

• Build, manage, and optimize Docker images.

• Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes (EKS / AKS).

• Troubleshoot pod-level and cluster-level issues (CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, networking, config issues).

• Use Helm charts or GitOps-based workflows for application deployments.

Application & Production Support (AppOps)

• Provide L2/L3 production support for business-critical applications.

• Handle P1/P2 incidents, lead bridge calls, and ensure SLA compliance.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

• Participate in Change Management (CAB) and release governance processes.

Database & Application Operations

• Write and optimize SQL queries (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, RDS).

• Understand indexing strategies (clustered vs non-clustered).

• Support performance tuning and troubleshoot slow queries.

• Perform basic database operational tasks (monitoring, dumps, failure analysis).

Monitoring & Observability

• Set up and use monitoring/logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog.

• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and stability risks.

 

Must-Have Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable)

• AWS Cloud: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EKS (hands-on)

• CI/CD: Jenkins + at least one modern pipeline tool (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / ArgoCD)

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (practical, not theoretical)

• Containers: Docker + Kubernetes troubleshooting

• Production Support: L2/L3 AppOps, P1/P2 handling, RCA

• SQL: Ability to write and optimize queries

 

Nice-to-Have / Value-Add Skills

• Azure exposure (AKS)

• Python / Bash / PowerShell scripting

• Service Mesh (Istio)

• DevSecOps tooling (SonarQube, Aqua, Twistlock)

• GitOps workflows

 

Experience & Qualifications

• 5–9 years overall experience, strong in Cloud / DevOps / AppOps

• Hands-on experience supporting production environments

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience
