Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the enterprise QA strategy, standards, and testing governance framework across all application delivery programs
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA Test Engineers—setting performance expectations, guiding skill development, and driving team engagement
- Establish and maintain test processes across functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Own the test automation roadmap; drive adoption of automation frameworks across CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery cycles
- Serve as the escalation point for critical test failures, quality incidents, and release-blocking defects
- Partner with engineering leads, architects, and product owners to integrate quality gates at every stage of the SDLC
- Define, track, and report on quality KPIs (e.g., defect density, test coverage, escape rate, automation ratio)
- Oversee test environment management, data management strategies, and tooling governance
- Lead QA planning activities for major releases, platform migrations, and client onboarding programs
- Review and maintain QA documentation including test plans, SOPs, runbooks, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Collaborate with DevOps and release management teams to ensure automated test execution is embedded within CI/CD pipelines
- Champion Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and shift-left testing practices across delivery teams
- Manage stakeholder communication on quality status, release readiness, and risk posture
- Participate in pre-sales and client-facing engagements as the QA subject matter expert where required
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a lead or managerial capacity
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured)
- Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) tools (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow)
- CI/CD pipeline integration (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)
- Performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6)
- Strong experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and sprint-based testing practices
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, qTest)
- Proven ability to design, build, and govern test automation frameworks from the ground up
- Experience managing QA across complex, multi-tier application environments including web, mobile, and API layers
- Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms for defect and release management
- Strong understanding of software development practices including version control (Git), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and microservices architecture
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager (CTAL-TM) or equivalent certification
- Experience in managed services or multi-client delivery environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native application testing patterns
- Familiarity with accessibility testing standards (WCAG 2.1) and security testing basics (OWASP)
- Experience in ITIL-based service delivery environments
