Description

Senior Application Support Engineer responsible for operational stability and performance of Newline platform applications hosted on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead Level 2 support for Java Spring and Ruby on Rails web services, ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and coordinate with engineering teams to implement long-term fixes.
• Configure and maintain monitoring, alerting, and eventing solutions using Splunk, Dynatrace, Scout, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Conduct technical code-level debugging and transaction monitoring for real-time payments, BIN, and ACH/Wires applications.
• Mentor junior team members and document support procedures to improve service consistency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in application support or technical operations roles.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting Java Spring Web Services and Ruby Rails Web Services.
• Strong SQL skills with database support for PostgresDB and AWS Aurora.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, REST APIs, and containerized services (Docker, ECS/Fargate).
• Expertise with AWS services including Lambda, MQ, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools Splunk, Dynatrace, and Scout.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
