Description

You will own the design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical data layers.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize performant SQL and PL/pgSQL functions, ensuring data integrity via constraints and triggers.
• Implement table partitioning and manage data lifecycle policies, including archiving strategies.
• Build secure data access layers and APIs using Java, .NET, Node.js, or Python with proper connection pooling and retry logic.
• Manage database migrations, versioning, and rollback strategies using Liquibase or Flyway.
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks using EXPLAIN/ANALYZE and pg_stat_statements to tune database parameters.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency with PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
• Strong skills in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries.
• Experience building data access layers with Node.js, .NET, or Python.
• Proficiency with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Understanding of database replication, failover, and point-in-time recovery (WAL archiving).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data lifecycle management and large-scale archiving.
