Description

Lead the migration and modernization of platform and database services from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design AWS architecture for database services using Amazon RDS, Redshift, Aurora, Athena, and DynamoDB.
• Oversee migration strategies and modernization processes to ensure performance and compatibility.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to integrate database services.
• Identify and implement optimization opportunities and ensure compliance with data security and governance.

Required Skills

• 6-14 years of experience in cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Deep understanding of AWS and GCP services and cloud architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, RDS, and Data Pipeline.
• Proficiency in designing data models for both GCP and AWS environments.
• Expertise in ETL processes using AWS Glue and Apache Beam.
• Strong knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for scripting and migration automation.
• Experience in project planning, scoping, and executing data-related projects.
• At least 2 Professional or Specialty level AWS certifications.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of big data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
