Lead technical direction and process improvement for complex data engineering initiatives.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software solutions and technical features using modern stacks.
• Lead significant projects from requirement gathering through to delivery.
• Evaluate new technologies and provide architectural recommendations for complex problems.
• Coach and develop engineers through technical expertise and continuous feedback.
• Collaborate with customers and management to analyze requirements and provide specialist advice.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience designing and implementing software solutions with a focus on data engineering.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java, Scala, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Strong expertise in RESTful API, micro-service design, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, or NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, architecture patterns, and data governance.
• Proficiency in shell scripting.
• Experience using modeling and diagramming tools like Visio or Lucid Charts.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Big Data and MPP databases such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Experience working in multi-tenanted data environments.
