Description

You will design, code, and maintain applications on the AS/400 platform to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and debug AS/400 applications to ensure high-quality software deliverables.
• Develop and optimize COBOL and CL programs using DDS.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications through troubleshooting, bug fixes, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements.
• Perform unit testing and conduct code reviews to provide technical feedback.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in AS/400 development.
• Proficiency in COBOL and CL programming.
• Strong experience with DB2/400 and SQL.
• Experience with DDS and screen design using SDA.
• Hands-on expertise with WRKQRY.
• Ability to perform debugging and unit testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as ALDON, THENON, IMPLEMENTOR, or TURNOVER.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Mentor other AS/400 developers regarding design, development, and maintenance practices.
