Description

Design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications on the IBM i (AS400/iSeries) platform.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and build applications using RPG IV, RPGLE (Free-format), CL, and SQL.
• Develop and optimize DB2 for i database objects including tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform performance tuning to ensure system stability.
• Support modernization initiatives such as web enablement, API integration, and migration to free-format RPG.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and create technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in AS400/IBM i application development.
• Strong proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, and Free-format RPG.
• Solid experience with CL (Control Language) programming.
• Deep knowledge of DB2 for i and embedded SQL/SQLRPGLE.
• Experience with development tools like RDi (Rational Developer for i), PDM, and SEU.
• Understanding of physical/logical files, data areas, and data queues.
• Familiarity with version control and change management processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with modernization tools such as Profound UI, web services, or REST APIs on IBM i.
• Knowledge of integration technologies like MQ, EDI, or middleware.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
