Description

Develop and maintain iSeries applications in the retail domain, owning the full lifecycle from requirements to deployment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and create functional specifications for iSeries applications.
• Develop new programs and modify existing code using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and peer reviews to ensure scalability and best practices.
• Resolve 2nd level support incidents, create knowledge base articles, and provide on-call support.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and business teams to define and document requirements clearly.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of programming experience on the iSeries platform.
• Strong proficiency in RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and CLP/CLLE.
• Experience with SQL concepts, including complex queries, embedded SQL, cursors, and stored procedures.
• Knowledge of database objects: physical/logical files, SQL tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
• Experience with screen programming (Display Files, Subfiles, Printer Files).
• Understanding of ILE concepts: program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
• Familiarity with Message Queue (MQ), MQ Triggers, and embedding XML in RPG programs.
• Ability to analyze program flows and create data mapping documents.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with collaborative technical discussions on software architecture and user experience.
• Proven track record of owning project tasks end-to-end with client analysts.
