Description

You will develop and modernize legacy programs on the iSeries platform.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RPGLE programs using ILE and free-format syntax, including embedded SQL.
• Write complex SQL queries, joins, and perform database tuning on IBM DB2/400.
• Build and manage APIs, Stored Procedures, Service Programs, and User-Defined Functions.
• Manage data transfers via FTP, flat file formatting, and DB2 loading using RPGLE or CLLE.
• Program, process, and debug batch jobs and interactive subfiles.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in RPGLE programming (ILE and free-format).
• Extensive experience with IBM DB2/400 and complex SQL.
• Proficiency in batch job programming and debugging.
• Experience with interactive screen programming using load-all and page-at-a-time subfiles.
• Knowledge of connecting and integrating with remote iSeries systems.
• Ability to modify interactive RPGLE programs to run in batch mode.
• Understanding of set-based vs. record-at-a-time processing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with online screen support and maintenance programs.
• Manual control of opening and closing display files.
