Description

You will own the full development lifecycle for iSeries applications, focusing on RPG, SQL, and EDI integrations. You will analyze business requirements, create data mapping documents, and deliver complete project tasks through direct communication with client analysts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and create new programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and CLP/CLLE.
• Manage EDI transactions (810, 850, 820, 856) on the iSeries, preferably using Trusted Link.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, embedded SQL, and cursor programming.
• Design database objects including physical/logical files, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
• Create program modules, binding directories, and service programs using ILE principles.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AS400/iSeries development.
• Proficiency in RPG, RPG ILE, and SQLRPGLE.
• Strong command of CLP/CLLE for system control.
• Practical experience with EDI transaction types and platforms.
• Deep knowledge of SQL concepts, including complex queries and embedded SQL.
• Experience with database concepts: physical/logical files, tables, indexes, and views.
• Familiarity with screen programming (Display Files, Subfiles, Printer Files).
• Working knowledge of Message Queue (MQ), MQ Triggers, and XML embedding in RPG.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MDCMS, X-Analysis, ROBOT job scheduler, and iSeries Navigator.
• Knowledge of Retail Domain (Merchandising, Warehouse Management, Distribution).
