Description

You will own the monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of AS400 (IBM i) production environments, batch jobs, and system health to meet SLA commitments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production environment health, batch jobs, schedulers, and system availability.
• Troubleshoot and restart failed batch jobs, resolving production incidents related to infrastructure alerts and application issues.
• Execute daily, weekly, month-end, and year-end batch processing activities and spool file management.
• Perform user account administration, password resets, and access provisioning.
• Conduct root cause analysis, document fixes, and maintain knowledge articles while coordinating with infrastructure and business teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience supporting IBM i (AS400) production environments.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system, batch operations, job scheduling, and job monitoring.
• Proficiency in CL commands, job logs, spool files, message queues, and work management.
• Experience with DB2/400 and SQL for basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools and production incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Experience monitoring alerts from tools like Jobman, Logmon, and IBM Navigator.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
