Description

Design and develop high-speed custom automation for connector and cable manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design new manufacturing machinery using Siemens NX CAD software.
• Provide assembly feasibility, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback, and equipment cost estimates.
• Develop accurate BOMs, spare tooling lists, and debug/setup documentation.
• Execute machine qualification plans and provide technical support during equipment launches.
• Participate in Design Reviews and PFMEAs to improve current and future automation designs.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology.
• 2+ years of machine design experience.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX or Solidworks 3D CAD packages.
• Experience with high-speed synchronous, asynchronous, and flexible robotics assembly systems.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience managing project timelines, component costs, labor, and lead times.
• Knowledge of simulations, prototyping, and design from initial concept to production.
• Ability to follow TQM, IS/QS-9000, ISO, and EH&S management systems.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of machine building techniques, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Experience in the electronics industry or with interconnect/cables.
