Description

Manage automation engineering for drug substance operations and capital projects in a GMP biopharmaceutical environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Plant Automation team during project planning, business case development, and cost estimation.
• Lead the implementation of automation solutions including DeltaV DCS, Rockwell PLC, HMI, and SCADA hardware and software.
• Manage post-implementation activities including hyper-care support, system owner training, and SOP revisions.
• Execute automation engineering assessments and configuration changes for new product and technology introductions.
• Ensure all designs and implementations comply with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Emerson Delta-V DCS and Rockwell Automation PLC/SCADA platforms.
• Experience with Electronic Batch Reporting systems design and implementation.
• Proficiency in Process Control Network design, including network segregation and virtual infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with system integration using OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, ProfiBus, and DeviceNet.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards including 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, S95, and GAMP.
• Experience managing the full capital project lifecycle from conceptual design through commissioning and validation.
• Familiarity with updating Maximo assets and CMDB systems.

Preferred Skills

• Degree in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or Biotech Engineering, or a related life science engineering field.
