JOB SUMMARY:

The Automation & Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating event-driven automation pipelines integrating platforms such as Meraki, Datadog, PagerDuty, and ServiceNow. This role focuses on developing Python-based microservices and API integrations to automate incident detection, enrichment, routing, and resolution workflows. The engineer will implement scalable automation solutions, improve observability, reduce operational noise, and ensure reliable incident management across monitoring and ITSM platforms.

EXPERIENCE: 8–12 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end API integrations between Meraki, Datadog, PagerDuty, and ServiceNow.
• Develop Python microservices for event ingestion, filtering, enrichment, correlation, retry logic, and idempotent processing.
• Implement event-driven automation pipelines for monitoring and incident management workflows.
• Configure Datadog monitors, event pipelines, processors, tags, and routing logic.
• Implement PagerDuty event rules, escalation paths, and service integrations for incident automation.
• Build ServiceNow integrations including Incident and CMDB integration using Table API, Import Sets, Transform Maps, and Scripted REST APIs.
• Deploy and manage applications using CI/CD pipelines, Docker containerization, and Git workflows.
• Monitor system reliability through SLOs, metrics, dashboards, logging, and alerts.
• Create architecture diagrams, sequence flows, and operational runbooks for automation workflows.
• Ensure pipeline reliability through health checks, error handling, rate limiting, and retry mechanisms.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in automation engineering, integration engineering, or platform engineering roles.
• Strong Python development experience (5–7+ years) including async programming, structured logging, debugging, and clean code practices.
• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs including:
• Meraki Dashboard API
• Datadog API (events, monitors, pipelines)
• PagerDuty Events API v2
• ServiceNow REST/Table APIs
• Experience implementing event-driven automation patterns such as idempotency keys, retry logic, rate-limit handling, and dead letter queue (DLQ) patterns.
• Strong experience with Datadog monitoring and event pipelines.
• Experience implementing PagerDuty incident automation and routing.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow Incident and CMDB systems.
• Experience with Docker containerization and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of JSON schemas, payload mapping, and correlation ID patterns.

• Experience with messaging and queue systems such as Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Basic networking knowledge and familiarity with Meraki network environments
