Architect and deliver REST-based microservices using containerized workloads on Amazon EKS, with the ability to select appropriate AWS compute services for each use case.
Develop backend NodeJS REST APIs using Fastify/NextJS frameworks with strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.
Build and maintain Kubernetes deployments, services, ingress rules, autoscaling, and workload security configurations.
Design secure API exposure using API Gateway, Application Load Balancer, and related AWS-native integration services.
Implement secure access to AWS services through IAM roles, IRSA, VPC endpoints, and private networking patterns.
Troubleshoot issues across application, container, Kubernetes, networking, and AWS infrastructure layers.
Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and documentation for AWS-based microservices and applications.
Provide hands-on technical leadership by coaching and mentoring development teams on cloud-native design and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance cloud-native engineering and CI/CD adoption.
Stay up to date with AWS advancements, especially in EKS, identity, networking, and container ecosystem enhancements.
Qualifications
10+ years in application development or cloud architecture with strong focus on cloud-native microservices.
Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon ECS, EKS and Kubernetes (deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, RBAC, networking).
Must have strong expertise in NodeJS for building RESTful services using NestJS framework
Experience using databases and caching services such as Amazon RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB and ElastiCache
Solid background in Docker containerization and runtime optimization.
Strong understanding of AWS compute, networking, storage, and integration services relevant to microservices.
Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization using Cognito, JWTs, IAM, or similar frameworks.
Proficiency in AI-native development environments and integrated coding assistants, specifically Kiro, Cursor, and VSCode.
Proven troubleshooting skills across application, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure layers.
Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and influence engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, or service mesh patterns.
Familiarity with data services such as AWS Data Lake, Athena, Iceberg
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.
Knowledge of agentic AI orchestration frameworks, such as Strands.
Awareness of emerging AWS capabilities and the evolving container ecosystem
