Description

You will design and implement analytical data lakes and scalable Big Data platforms on AWS. You own the infrastructure implementation, ensuring high availability and security for sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of AWS infrastructure, including VPC, subnets, security groups, S3, RDS, EC2, Glacier, Lambda, and IAM.
• Design highly scalable Big Data platforms with a focus on security, data governance, and encryption at rest and in transit.
• Support Data Engineering teams with Hadoop/Spark job deployments and collaborate with IT Operations to troubleshoot incidents.
• Benchmark systems to identify bottlenecks in hybrid environments and propose solutions for scaling and reliability.
• Translate business goals into technical solutions while mentoring team members and participating in cloud strategy discussions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure management.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services including S3, RDS, EC2, Glacier, Lambda, and IAM.
• Experience managing security for HIPAA, PHI, and PII data, including tokens and secrets management.
• Extensive experience administering Hadoop and Spark cluster environments with Cloudera distributions.
• Proficiency with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins.
• Experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies using Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on experience with Python and PHP.
• Strong understanding of encryption, replication, and disaster recovery protocols.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with analytical workspaces like Jupyter, Zeppelin, or RStudio.
• Knowledge of data science analytical methodologies.
