Description

Lead database migration strategies and cloud architecture design for large-scale migrations.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design migration roadmaps and strategies for moving legacy databases to AWS infrastructure.
• Execute migrations from Oracle and MySQL to AWS cloud databases using DMS and other tools.
• Manage the transition of downstream applications to new cloud database environments.
• Architect database backup, recovery, and restore processes within AWS.
• Define network access security requirements for both source and target database environments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database environments.
• Proven track record of at least two large-scale Oracle or MySQL to AWS migrations.
• Deep expertise in AWS RDS (Relational Database Service).
• Experience with AWS DMS, Oracle GoldenGate, and import-export utilities.
• Strong background in Oracle DBA tasks and Oracle database management.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Proficiency in AWS KMS, CloudWatch, and IAM configurations.
• Experience with DBAAS and managed cloud database technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with third-party migration tools.
