Description

You will own the design and execution of enterprise cloud migration and architecture refinement.

Responsibilities

• Design migration plans, determining whether replatforming or refactoring is appropriate for existing applications.
• Lead the architecture and design of solutions, creating Reference Architectures for legacy Java/J2EE teams.
• Modify existing Java code to integrate with AWS services, often decomposing monoliths into microservices.
• Select appropriate AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, API Gateway, Lambda) and define disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience migrating applications to the AWS platform.
• Strong proficiency in Java and J2EE frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, and JSF.
• Expertise in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Solid experience with CI/CD practices for continuous deployment.
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture and cloud computing concepts.
• Knowledge of database migration strategies across various database systems.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to architect solutions involving EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
• Strong problem-solving skills for distributed, cloud-based environments.
