Description

Design and execute automated migration workflows from Oracle to PostgreSQL, focusing on minimizing downtime and supporting large-scale database transfers.

Review and enhance existing workflow automation, database migration, and performance tooling. Identify gaps in current capabilities and implement architectural improvements to support larger database sizes.

• Architect migration solutions using Apache Kafka (preferred) or AWS DMS for data streaming.
• Implement Change Data Capture (CDC) using Debezium to ensure real-time data consistency.
• Develop and maintain IaC pipelines using Terraform and container orchestration with Helm.
• Execute end-to-end testing of automation tooling and refine runbooks during migration waves.
• Support customer migration planning, including cohort analysis and solution documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data migration and cloud architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Java for building migration automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Expertise in Apache Kafka or AWS DMS, with a preference for Kafka.
• Practical knowledge of Debezium for Change Data Capture (CDC).
• Proficiency with Terraform and Helm for infrastructure and deployment management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS cloud services and data migration best practices.
• Background in performance tuning for large-scale database environments.
