Description

Lead the design and implementation of a state-controlled AWS Lakehouse environment to centralize law enforcement and related data.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a CJIS-compliant Data Lake within the AWS environment.
• Build data ingestion layers for MySQL, SQL Server, SaaS applications, and file shares.
• Develop ELT processes to move data from source to S3 and transform it for Redshift.
• Engineer a data catalog solution using AWS Glue to manage schema drift and metadata.
• Create scalable templates for ingestion, ELT processes, and future lakehouse expansions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or architecture.
• Deep expertise in AWS Lakehouse technologies and design standards.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, including Data Catalog and Crawlers.
• Proficiency with AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, and AWS S3.
• Strong knowledge of AWS IAM for designing security templates and roles.
• Experience managing MySQL and SQL Server database sources.
• Ability to design systems for Power BI connectivity and reporting.
• Knowledge of CJIS compliant data storage and security requirements.
• AWS Lakehouse Certification.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with ADS (Agency of Digital Services) environments.
