Cloud Development & Modernization: Design, develop, and automate scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern AWS cloud-native technologies.
Data & Stream Integration: Build and maintain data pipelines and cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
Full-Lifecycle Engineering: Own all phases of the software development lifecycle, translating business requirements into implementation, testing, and cloud operations.
System Maintenance: Support and maintain existing enterprise J2EE architectures while actively participating in their evolution toward modern cloud environments.
CI/CD & Automation: Drive continuous integration and test automation pipelines using GitHub/GitLab, SonarQube, and JUnit.
Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in Agile methodologies, team sprints, and mandatory in-person Program Increment (PI) Planning events in the D.C. or Wilmington offices.
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
Core Backend Expertise: Strong proficiency in Java coding combined with deep experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and object-oriented design patterns.
AWS Cloud Experience: Proven experience building applications leveraging AWS services including Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB/Aurora, and Redshift.
Enterprise Java Foundations: Familiarity with traditional J2EE technologies (Servlets, JMS, JDBC, Web Services, MQ, and concurrent programming).
Data & Web Protocols: Hands-on experience working with Oracle/SQL, JSON, XML/XSLT, JAXB, SOAP, and RESTful APIs.
Frontend & Testing: Foundational knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and HTML, alongside excellent skills in writing unit test cases using TDD and BDD methodologies.
Security Literacy: Solid understanding of enterprise security principles, including Role-Based Security (JAAS), HTTPS protocols, and encryption techniques
