Description

You will manage and maintain an AWS Organization environment using Control Tower to support agency cloud projects in Jackson, MS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the existing AWS Organization and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
• Design, review, and implement AWS solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Act as a senior point of contact for complex troubleshooting involving network connectivity, storage, and compute layers.
• Mentor staff through knowledge transfer, coaching, and the creation of technical documentation and playbooks.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement governance, SCPs, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
• Experience managing multi-account environments and AWS Landing Zone implementations using Landing Zone Accelerator.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
• Strong network troubleshooting skills for cloud-to-on-premises connectivity.
• Experience implementing security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, containerization (Docker, ECS, EKS), and serverless architectures.
• Ability to lead architectural reviews and navigate ambiguity in complex solution design.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
• Experience in government or highly regulated environments (HIPAA, CJIS, IRS 1075).
• Knowledge of Python, Bash, PowerShell, ITIL, or Agile methodologies.
