Description

Lead the management and automation of AWS infrastructure with a primary focus on Kafka environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage AWS infrastructure and automate deployments using CloudFormation.
• Design and develop Kafka architectures, including authentication and authorization for Kafka objects.
• Implement security best practices including SSL/TLS, encryption at rest and in transit, and ACLs.
• Monitor platform performance and Kafka applications using CloudWatch and native MSK tools.
• Establish secure connectivity between on-premises systems and cloud applications like Azure Event Hub and Google PubSub.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure management.
• Deep expertise with AWS services including MSK, EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, and VPC.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka design, development, and MSK setup via CloudFormation.
• Proven ability to automate deployments for connectors and Kafka clients.
• Strong scripting skills for automation tasks.
• Experience with Linux/Unix or Windows systems administration.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration including Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and CI/CD.
• Ability to optimize throughput, minimize latency, and perform fine-tuning.
• Must be an Australian Citizen capable of obtaining a baseline security clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced AWS networking knowledge covering VPCs, Subnets, and Security Groups.
• Experience with AWS integration services such as AWS-MFT and App Flow.
