Description

You will serve as the database expert for NoSQL technologies, managing high-scale Cassandra and Scylla clusters across AWS and Azure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cassandra and Scylla clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost optimization.
• Handle large database clusters processing 1M+ IOPS in aggregate.
• Create automation scripts to reduce operational toil and streamline cluster health monitoring.
• Develop alerting systems and establish runbooks for effective issue resolution.
• Set up backup and restore mechanisms and provide rotational on-call support.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise with Cassandra and Scylla DB.
• Proficiency with NoSQL database concepts.
• Experience working with AWS and Azure environments.
• Capacity planning and cost optimization for large-scale databases.
• Developing automation for operational tasks.
• Cluster health monitoring and alerting implementation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with high-load client connectivity troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of node-level issue resolution.
