Description

Architect and manage core AWX and Ansible automation platforms.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize AWX environments, managing upgrades, configuration, clustering, and troubleshooting.
• Design and implement high-availability and redundancy strategies for AWX deployments.
• Define and enforce best practices for job templates, workflows, inventories, credentials, and RBAC.
• Administer and support the PostgreSQL database backing AWX, including backup and recovery.
• Design and review Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation frameworks, ensuring GitOps workflows.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in automation platform architecture and administration.
• Hands-on AWX administration, including Operator deployment and HA design.
• Strong PostgreSQL or SQL database administration experience, including tuning and replication.
• Red Hat Ansible Tower/Automation Controller administration experience, covering HA, RBAC, and scaling.
• Expert knowledge of Ansible playbook structure, YAML, roles, and Ansible Vault.
• Kubernetes (k8s) skills for managing AWX clusters, including deployments and stateful services.
• Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS) systems understanding.
• Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.

Preferred Skills

• Experience integrating automation with enterprise tools like ServiceNow or HashiCorp Vault.
