Description

You will architect and implement scalable, high-performance solutions using Azure Cosmos DB.

Responsibilities

• Optimize data modeling, partitioning, indexing, and throughput provisioning strategies for Cosmos DB.
• Monitor and manage Cosmos DB performance, availability, capacity, and security across production environments.
• Design and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud data solutions.
• Tune and troubleshoot Cosmos DB queries, latency issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Support migrations from legacy databases to Azure Cosmos DB, providing subject matter expertise on best practices.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in database administration or architecture.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically with Azure Cosmos DB in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of Cosmos DB APIs (SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Gremlin).
• Deep knowledge of partitioning, consistency models, throughput (RU/s), indexing, and replication.
• Proficiency in NoSQL data modeling and distributed system design.
• Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell, Python, or ARM/Bicep templates.
• Experience with security, access control, and encryption in Azure.
• Experience with Azure-native services like Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Azure Monitor.
• 10+ years of overall IT experience.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to multi-region Cosmos DB deployments and global distribution strategies.
• Experience with hybrid environments and integration with SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
