Role: Azure Data Architect (MRO Domain)
Location: Remote
Visa: No H1B
Airlines Domain Experience ( MRO) Mandatory
Role Overview
As an Azure Data Architect (Aviation & MRO), you will design and implement highly scalable, cloud-native data platforms. You will bridge complex technical architecture with deep aviation engineering and supply chain expertise, driving predictive maintenance, fleet reliability, inventory optimization, and robust data governance
Key Responsibilities
Domain-Specific Solution Design: Architect end-to-end data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses in Microsoft Azure tailored to airline MRO operations.
IoT & Telemetry Integration: Design scalable ingestion architectures for massive volumes of sensor and IoT data from aircraft engines, flight logs, and avionics systems (e.g., Engine Condition Monitoring).
Predictive Maintenance & AI/ML: Collaborate with data scientists to structure and operationalize ML models that predict part failures, optimize overhaul cycles, and minimize Aircraft on Ground (AOG) risks.
Supply Chain & Inventory Analytics: Build data models supporting rotatable/consumable inventory forecasting, vendor management, and maintenance turnaround times.
Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure aviation data compliance (e.g., FAA/EASA traceability standards) and establish master data management (MDM) frameworks across legacy ERP (e.g., SAP) and MRO-specific software
Technical Qualifications
Azure Data Stack: Deep hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
Big Data & Streaming: Strong command over processing real-time telemetry (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, Apache Spark).
Database Systems: Proficiency in Data Modelling (Dimensional & Star Schema), utilizing both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL).
Modern Architecture: Experience building Data Mesh, Lakehouse architectures, and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
Domain Experience (Airlines / MRO)
MRO Systems: Hands-on familiarity with aviation MRO software such as AMOS, Trax, Maintenix, or SAP for Aerospace & Défense.
Aircraft Operations Data: Deep understanding of ATA chapters, maintenance task cards, reliability reporting, unscheduled removals, and work order processing.
Aviation Regulations: Familiarity with safety, quality, and traceability requirements governing aircraft component maintenance
Experience & Education
Total Experience: 10+ years in IT, with at least 5+ years specializing in Azure cloud data platforms and 3+ years directly serving the aviation/MRO or heavy engineering sectors.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate are highly preferred
