Design and implement scalable, cloud-native data platforms for aviation MRO operations.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end data pipelines, lakes, and warehouses in Microsoft Azure tailored to airline MRO operations.
• Design scalable ingestion architectures for massive sensor and IoT data from aircraft engines and avionics systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize ML models for predictive maintenance and fleet reliability.
• Build data models supporting rotatable inventory forecasting, vendor management, and maintenance turnaround times.
• Ensure aviation data compliance and establish master data management frameworks across legacy ERP systems.

Required Skills

• 10+ years in IT, with 5+ years specializing in Azure cloud data platforms.
• 3+ years directly serving the aviation, MRO, or heavy engineering sectors.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Azure Databricks.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern architecture patterns like Data Mesh and Lakehouse.
• Strong command over real-time telemetry processing using Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, and Apache Spark.
• Proficiency in dimensional and star schema data modeling using Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on familiarity with aviation MRO software such as AMOS, Trax, Maintenix, or SAP for Aerospace & Defense.
• Knowledge of ATA chapters, maintenance task cards, and FAA/EASA traceability standards.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
