Description

This is a contract position for an Azure Data Engineer, based remotely. The engagement is expected to last six months or longer.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes on Azure cloud platforms
• Perform data migration and modernization projects, ensuring data integrity and system performance
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database performance
• Implement cloud security and governance best practices across data infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Support CI/CD and DevOps practices to streamline deployment and maintenance

Qualifications

• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud
  • Experience with large-scale data migration or modernization projects
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Data Lake
  • Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills
  • Experience developing ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Understanding of cloud security and governance principles
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
