Description

You will build and manage data migration processes for a new Azure cloud-native student information system.

Responsibilities

• Map and rationalize data between transactional and dimensional database models.
• Design and manage Synapse pipelines to move data from on-premises systems to an Azure data lake.
• Model database structures based on specific business use cases.
• Develop stored procedures and ETL processes in collaboration with database and system administrators.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Extensive experience developing stored procedures and ETL processes using T-SQL.
• Experience with Oracle database environments.
• Thorough understanding of data warehouse design hierarchies, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Proficiency with ALM tools for version control, code analysis, and testing.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and continuous integration.
• Experience creating and scheduling elastic jobs.
• Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Synapse Pipelines and Common Education Data Standards (CEDS).
• Experience with student information management systems and K-12 data.
• Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.
