Description

Lead the migration and modernization of the Enterprise Data Warehouse to Azure, designing and maintaining scalable data solutions for public health reporting and research.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of the EDW to Azure Cloud using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Synapse.
• Design, build, and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Apache Spark, and Python.
• Develop efficient data warehousing designs, including relational and dimensional modeling with star schema methodologies.
• Implement CI/CD release management processes in Azure DevOps for monorepo environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data standards, governance models, and technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data warehouse development and ELT/ETL within Azure environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, Pipelines, and Synapse.
• Strong proficiency in Apache Spark and Python for data engineering tasks.
• Advanced SQL Server skills, including T-SQL and SSIS.
• Experience as an Azure DevOps CI/CD Release Manager.
• Deep understanding of relational databases, facts, dimensions, and data modeling.
• Proven experience in data cleansing, transformation, and API development.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience with public health or healthcare datasets and applications.
• Familiarity with DOH systems such as PA NEDSS NextGen, PA LIMS Replacement, or Verato UMPI.
