Description

Design and execute large-scale database migrations to Azure environments, covering heterogeneous engines and datasets exceeding 1TB.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Analyze on-premises and Azure transactional database environments, including Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Evaluate and plan migrations for heterogeneous database engines and large datasets exceeding 1TB.
• Develop and enhance PL/SQL and T-SQL scripts to facilitate data movement from source to target.
• Identify workarounds for technical corner cases and develop comprehensive test plans to ensure post-migration readiness.
• Document detailed designs and migration procedures for deployment from Dev to Prod.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in database design, development, and migration on Azure.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Proven experience migrating large databases (1TB+) across multiple engines such as MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Deep understanding of performance optimization and high-end troubleshooting.
• Experience with Database Administration, including HA/DR, monitoring, backup/restore, and replication.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
