Description

Lead the architecture and execution of large-scale database migrations to Azure.

Responsibilities

• Analyse on-premises and Azure transactional environments to plan migrations for Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Develop and enhance PL/SQL and T-SQL scripts to facilitate data movement from source to target databases.
• Identify and resolve technical workarounds for specific corner cases encountered during the migration process.
• Create comprehensive test plans and cases to validate database readiness post-migration.
• Document detailed design specifications and migration steps for deployment from Dev to Prod.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in database design, development, and migration on Azure.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Proven track record migrating large databases (1TB+) across multiple engines including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and MariaDB.
• Experience performing heterogeneous database migrations.
• Proficiency in performance optimization techniques and high-end troubleshooting.
• Strong scripting skills using Bash, Perl, or Python.
• Experience with Database Administration, including HA/DR, monitoring, backup/restore, and replication.
