Description

Design, build, and deploy Azure SQL PaaS and IaaS solutions to meet business requirements.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and Hyperscale solutions.
• Automate database builds and deployments using Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Own high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and performance tuning strategies.
• Monitor database health using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Define and enforce database security, compliance, and encryption policies.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL.
• Proficiency with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Strong expertise in T-SQL, query tuning, index strategies, and execution plans.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for database deployments.
• Deep understanding of Azure networking, identity (AAD), and cost management.
• Expertise in HA/DR designs, including geo-replication, failover groups, and AlwaysOn AGs.
• Experience with DevOps automation using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and PowerShell.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server DBA tasks and Terraform.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Azure Certifications (DP-300, AZ-104, or AZ-305).
• Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem environments and cloud-native stores like PostgreSQL or Cosmos DB.
