Description

Define and evolve system architecture for scalability, reliability, and performance while leading technical delivery and mentoring engineering teams.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain architectural documentation, technical specifications, and technology stack improvements.
• Break down complex initiatives into actionable tasks, providing accurate Level of Effort (LOE) estimates and acceptance criteria.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues, analyze system bottlenecks, and implement performance and capacity optimizations.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and establishing engineering best practices.
• Own end-to-end delivery of critical features and systems, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in architecture roles.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design.
• Production experience with AWS services (DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, API Gateway).
• Strong knowledge of Kafka or similar event streaming platforms, including consumer/producer tuning and partition strategies.
• Experience implementing resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, bulkheads, and timeouts.
• Proficiency in performance profiling, latency reduction, caching strategies, and load testing.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of observability tools including DataDog, Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch, and Grafana.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with SRE practices, DevOps methodologies, and GraphQL/REST API design.
