Description

You will build and maintain large-scale distributed systems within the payments industry, ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and triage service incidents as the primary point of contact for LiveOps/GCX.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale service capacity for 20x normal load during T1 events.
• Work with core engineering to address bugs and deploy services across multiple environments.
• Create service health dashboards and implement alarms to monitor production systems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or C++.
• Experience building large, reliable, and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience building event-driven applications.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery.
• Background in the payments industry (e.g., PayPal or similar).
• Ability to work closely with remote offices and different functional groups.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with GraphQL.
• Experience with WebSockets.
