Description

You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Own specific features or modules across the entire product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product managers in a distributed team.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality before handoff to QA.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including API specs, design documents, and runbooks.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional backend development experience with Node.js.
• Strong proficiency with Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js or Fastify.
• Experience with TypeScript in backend codebases.
• Strong understanding of SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including joins, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with Redis for caching, including cache-aside patterns, TTL, and invalidation strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD environments and Git.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with message queues such as RabbitMQ, BullMQ, or Kafka.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization patterns, including JWT, OAuth2, and session management.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming concepts, including the Node.js event loop.
