Description

You will design, implement, and maintain server-side components for geospatial applications supporting Next Generation Network Priority Services and emergency response capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable backend systems to process, store, and retrieve geospatial data.
• Integrate GIS databases, mapping APIs, and geospatial data sources to enable location-based services.
• Develop RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate communication between frontend interfaces and backend infrastructure.
• Implement data validation, authentication, and access control to secure geospatial data and user information.
• Collaborate with GIS specialists, data analysts, and frontend developers to define data schemas and API endpoints.

Required Skills

• 8-10+ years of backend development experience with recent, hands-on geospatial experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring Boot, or Express.js.
• Strong knowledge of spatial databases, specifically PostgreSQL/PostGIS or MongoDB.
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Working knowledge of Git for version control.
• Competency in testing frameworks including JUnit, Mockito, or PyTest.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like New Relic and Splunk.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with public safety communication systems and NG911 standards.
