Description

Build and scale distributed backend systems as part of a cross-functional engineering team.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own the full development cycle from technical design and development to testing, experimentation, and launch.
• Design maintainable database schemas, data structures, and APIs using GraphQL, REST, and HTTP.
• Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to resolve integration issues and optimize application performance.
• Review code and design documents, providing feedback on product specifications and mocks.
• Identify technical bottlenecks, ensure compliance with security protocols, and mentor other engineers.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional software development experience building distributed backend systems at scale.
• Expertise in Python and Golang, including experience with large-scale Python to Golang migrations.
• Experience with microservices architecture and handling high-throughput workloads.
• Proficiency with message queues such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Experience with caching systems like Redis or Memcached.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Ability to design maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, and HTTP.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, unit/integration/end-to-end testing, and A/B testing.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to design technical solutions with minimal direction and navigate ambiguous requirements.
