Description

You build and expand backend services supporting mobile and web applications.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement APIs and endpoints from scratch in a production environment.
• Build, maintain, and enhance backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, data teams, and client stakeholders.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following modern engineering practices.
• Support production systems and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Required Skills

• 3–8 years of modern backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin in modern frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building APIs and endpoints in production systems.
• Experience working in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with Ktor, Gradle, Maven, Liquibase, JUnit, and Kotest.
• Experience contributing to trunk-based development workflows.
• Ability to ramp quickly on Kotlin-based service architecture running on JVM 21.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with any Gradle, Maven, or Liquibase.
