Description

You will design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems and optimization models. You own the full lifecycle of Java-based services, from architecture to production support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend applications and optimization models.
• Collaborate with architects and leads to define application requirements and technical specifications.
• Maintain and enhance existing services using test-driven development and Agile practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and contribute to performance tuning efforts.
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming to uphold coding standards.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of Java SE experience designing large-scale applications in hosted production environments.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA for backend component development.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and applying object-oriented design principles.
• Database management including PostgreSQL, Object/Relational mapping, and query performance tuning.
• Testing and debugging expertise using JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD practices, and cloud technologies (Azure or AWS).
• Experience with build and version control tools including Maven, Gradle, Git, and Docker.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with open-source project design and repository maintenance.

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of Optimization and experience with CPLEX or Xpress.
• UI development experience.
