Description

Lead a backend development team while designing and implementing scalable server-side systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor backend developers, providing technical guidance and delegating tasks to ensure project completion.
• Design and implement scalable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL.
• Develop secure, efficient, and well-documented RESTful APIs.
• Build and maintain data models for performance and integrity.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, debugging complex issues and monitoring system health.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of backend development experience with a focus on Java.
• Expert knowledge of the Spring Boot framework and its ecosystem.
• Extensive experience with SQL databases and relational database design.
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience leading engineering teams in a Chicago-based office environment.
