Lead backend architecture and technical direction to ensure long-term scalability and product vision.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable backend solutions and system designs.
• Optimize application performance through database tuning, caching strategies, and code refactoring.
• Mentor backend engineers and lead the hiring process to build a high-quality team.
• Own code quality standards through rigorous code reviews and adherence to best practices.
• Drive technical innovation by researching and adopting emerging backend technologies.

Required Skills

• 4-6 years of experience in backend development and architecture design.
• Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails or similar backend frameworks.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with Redis for caching and Sidekiq for asynchronous job frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and resource utilization.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and observability tools such as Sentry, New Relic, or Datadog.
• Ability to debug infrastructure-related issues.
• Proven track record of mentoring teams and taking full technical ownership.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience leading the hiring process and building engineering teams.
