Description

You will manage and maintain backup infrastructure to ensure system availability and performance. You own the release of backup configurations and disaster recovery readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine systems maintenance, upgrades, capacity planning, and infrastructure performance tuning.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve P1/P2 incidents and environmental errors within defined SLAs.
  • Develop and document standardized preventative maintenance routines and operational run books.
  • Execute backup scheduling and participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercises.
  • Monitor performance utilization and participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in backup infrastructure hardware and software environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Avamar and Data Domain.
  • Experience with EMC Storage products and Windows server operating systems.
  • Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting shell scripts.
  • Knowledge of application-aware backups for SQL, Oracle, and Exchange.
  • Ability to deploy backup environments from scratch.
  • Experience with VMware and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow functionality.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Recovery and CyberVault.
