2–3+ years building reports and dashboards in Power BI from scratch (not just maintaining existing reports) — this is the core of the role; majority of reporting runs through it
Strong data visualization instincts — able to translate raw sales/inventory data into clear, decision-ready reporting for execs and self-service users
Working knowledge of relational data structures — comfortable understanding how source tables relate and stitching disparate datasets together for reporting
Strongly preferred
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O and/or CE) — specifically understanding the underlying table structure well enough to deliver accurate sales reporting. Big differentiator given the F&O + CRM integration work in flight
Comfort working in a Microsoft/Azure ecosystem (Synapse, Fabric, Azure data services)
Nice to have / trainable
Azure Synapse / Microsoft Fabric — exposure helps, but trainable; not a gate
Power Automate
SQL — useful but no longer a heavy requirement (Dynamics SaaS means less direct backend DB work than the prior Great Plains environment)
Manufacturing / distribution industry background
Scope:
Building and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards that give business and executive stakeholders accurate, timely data to make decisions
Supporting the company's sales and inventory reporting — understanding how sales data flows through Dynamics 365 F&O and surfacing it cleanly for the business
Continuing the in-flight effort to integrate and unify Dynamics F&O and Dynamics CRM (CE) data, stitching the two platforms together via Power BI into cohesive reporting
Assisting with the Synapse → Microsoft Fabric migration — primarily transitioning and testing existing reports on the new platform (a Microsoft Gold partner is driving the bulk of the migration under SOW, so this person supports rather than leads it)
Helping reduce reporting lag and the proliferation of ad-hoc self-service reports by delivering reliable, centralized reporting the business can trust
Environment:
Microsoft shop end to end – Dynamics 365 (migrated from Great Plains in early 2026), Dynamics CRM, Synapse moving to Fabric, Power BI, and infrastructure increasingly on Azure
