Description

Develop big data analytics capabilities for metabolomics and exposomics research by building computational algorithms and software tools. You will own the extraction of compound information from raw LC-MS and GC-MS data, annotation of ions using large-scale libraries, and structure prediction using mass and fragmentation spectra.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational algorithms and software tools to extract compound information from raw LC-MS and GC-MS data.
• Build tools for annotating and identifying ions using large-scale compound and mass spectral libraries.
• Create methods to predict compound structures or substructures using accurate mass, retention time, isotopic distribution, and fragmentation spectra.
• Integrate metabolomics and exposomics data with other -omics and meta-data to analyze biological systems.
• Publish research results related to algorithm development and big data capabilities.

Required Skills

• Recent Ph.D. in mathematics, signal processing, image processing, computer science, cheminformatics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in algorithm development and Big Data Analytics.
• Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, Java, or C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Background in metabolomics data analysis.
• Experience with machine learning.
