Description

Build and maintain distributed data systems and microservices using Java and Big Data frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop web services, microservices, and REST APIs to support business capabilities.
• Design and implement pub/sub patterns using Kafka.
• Write maintainable code using established usability patterns and integration standards.
• Implement software best practices including unit testing, code reviews, and code style conformity.
• Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies to solve technical challenges and business objectives.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, and Hive.
• Experience with Kafka and pub/sub implementations.
• Proficiency with Linux and Unix tools.
• Experience with version control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
• Ability to develop REST APIs and microservices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and distributed multi-tiered systems.
• Knowledge of Cloud technology and CI/CD tool chains like Jenkins.
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts, Python ML libraries, and web security.
